Facile route to achieve MoSe-NiSe on nickel foam as efficient dual functional electrocatalysts for overall

Frontiers in Energy 2022, Volume 16, Issue 3,   Pages 483-491 doi: 10.1007/s11708-022-0813-0

Abstract: Since the catalytic activity of present nickel-based synthetic selenide is still to be improved, MoSe2-Ni3Se2 was synthesized on nickel foam (NF) (MoSe2-Ni3Se2/NF) by introducing a molybdenum source. After the molybdenum source was introduced, the surface of the catalyst changed from a single-phase structure to a multi-phase structure. The catalyst surface with enriched active sites and the synergistic effect of MoSe2 and Ni3Se2 together enhance the hydrogen evolution reactions (HER), the oxygen evolution reactions (OER), and electrocatalytic total water splitting activity of the catalyst. The overpotential of the MoSe2-Ni3Se2/NF electrocatalyst is only 259 mV and 395 mV at a current density of 100 mA/cm2 for HER and OER, respectively. MoSe2-Ni3Se2/NF with a two-electrode system attains a current density of 10 mA/cm2 at 1.60 V. In addition, the overpotential of HER and OER of MoSe2-Ni3Se2/NF within 80000 s and the decomposition voltage of electrocatalytic total water decomposition hardly changed, showing an extremely strong stability. The improvement of MoSe2-Ni3Se2/NF catalytic activity is attributed to the establishment of the multi-phase structure and the optimized inoculation of the multi-component and multi-interface.

The automobile power train core technology route & FAW’s strategy for environmental protection and energy

Li Jun

Strategic Study of CAE 2009, Volume 11, Issue 8,   Pages 64-71

Abstract:

The auto industry in China is transferring from consumption to manufacture and has established development and innovation capability. The percentage of auto industry in GDP always ascends and it has been the leading actor in China. As core assembly in vehicle, the power train should keep balance between the pressure of environmental protection and energy conservation and international competition and diversified essential competition element. In the new competition phase, competition has changed from pursuing performance to comprehensive competition of environmental protection, energy conservation and cycle economy. In this paper, each challenge and core technology of power train are analyzed in depth and finally the road map and key concepts to meet the requirement of environmental protection and energy conservation are put forward. The FAW's product tactics are recommended.

Computational studies on the seismic response of the State Route 99 bridge in Seattle with SMA/ECC plastic

Jiping GE, M. Saiid SAIIDI, Sebastian VARELA

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2019, Volume 13, Issue 1,   Pages 149-164 doi: 10.1007/s11709-018-0482-6

Abstract: This paper reports a computational study on the seismic response of a three-span highway bridge system incorporating conventional and novel substructure details for improved seismic performance. The bridge has three continuous spans supported by two single-column piers and integral abutments founded on drilled shafts. It will be the first full-scale highway bridge to use superelastic shape memory alloy bars (SMA) and engineered cementitious composite (ECC) to mitigate column plastic hinge damage and minimize residual displacements after a strong earthquake. A three-dimensional computational model capturing the nonlinear constitutive response of the novel materials and the effects of dynamic soil-structure interaction was developed to assess the seismic response of the bridge in finite-element software OpenSees. Two versions of the same bridge were analyzed and compared, one with conventional cast-in-place reinforced concrete columns, and the other with top plastic hinges incorporating Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) SMA reinforcing bars and ECC. The novel SMA/ECC plastic hinges were found to substantially reduce damage and post-earthquake residual displacements in the bridge substructure, but led to larger maximum drifts relative to the bridge with conventional reinforced concrete plastic hinges. The analysis results suggested that the novel plastic hinges could lead to improved post-earthquake serviceability of bridges after intense earthquakes.
